Dale MelenbergPastor Dale is the Lead Pastor for The River. He comes with sixteen years of experience in leading a church, having done so as a solo pastor and as a Senior Pastor of a team ministry. Pastor Dale is a second career Pastor. His first career was in Sales and Marketing for a variety of industries, despite being called into ministry since his early teen years. Albeit he set out to become a Public Relations Officer for some large corporation, little did he know that it would be working for the Lord that this dream would be realized to its fullest extent.Pastor Dale describes himself as a visual learner and takes his creative side with him into preaching and counseling. He is an active listener, slow to speak, but very thoughtful when he does.Originally born in Edmonton (both he and his wife Gloria), they moved to Calgary in 1989 when Southland Corporation (7-Eleven) moved him to their Regional Office. Eleven years later, Dale entered seminary to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming a pastor. In 2004, Dale became the pastor of Maranatha Church in Calgary. After thirteen years as their solo pastor, Dale accepted a call to Hope Fellowship in Courtice, where he became their Senior Pastor. Having re-established their ministry and vision, Dale and Gloria returned to their hometown to take up the ministry lead at The River. We invite you to join with us as we journey with Pastor Dale in discovery of what it looks like to be a Christ Follower in the 21st Century.
