You are not here by chance! God created you for a purpose and equipped you with the gifts to fulfill your calling. He gave you gifts to be used to help build up Jesus's church. You'll find that sharing your gifts as a volunteer will help you grow spiritually, and it can also be a lot of fun!
Here are The River’s five most common serving opportunities:
Help make our worship service a memorable experience for guests and visitors. Serve by setting up the stage, chairs, hospitality equipment, children’s ministry equipment, etc.
Draw people close to the heart of God through your music and artistic gifts; or serve behind the scenes by helping out with lights, computer graphics, audio engineering, or video production.
Help make our church a place where people love spending time and want to return with their friends. Hospitality activities include greeting guests, helping families find our children’s ministry and serving bagels.
Show Jesus's love to kids and help them learn about Him. Opportunities vary according to your gifts—from storytellers and group leaders, to caregivers of infants and toddlers.
Hang out with teenagers in small groups and enjoy all kinds of sometimes-crazy events and trips, encouraging them to explore and own their faith. Be an adult in their lives who actively models Christ.
Other serving opportunities involve administration, small group leadership, prayer ministry, carpentry, teaching and much more. If you’re interested in serving, fill out a communication card on Sunday morning or contact riverserve@rivercommunity.ca.
