Boundaries

A boundary is a personal property line that marks those things for which we are responsible, thus defining who we are and who we are not. In order for us to have control of our lives in a positive way, be able to say no and ensure that we are not taken advantage of, boundaries are critical. This video course is a great opportunity to learn more about what it means to have boundaries and to talk about it with others on the journey.

The following questions reflect some of the confusion we may have about boundaries:

How do I answer someone who wants my time, love, energy, or money?

Is it difficult to hear no from other people?

Aren't boundaries selfish?

How do boundaries relate to submission?

What if someone is upset or hurt by my boundaries?

Why do I feel guilty or afraid when I consider setting boundaries?

What are legitimate boundaries?

Do I tend to want to control other people when I don't get what I want?

Can I set limits and still be a loving person?

The Boundaries course is offered as interest arises.  More information can be accessed through Kathy Dempsey (our parish nurse).  She can be reached at home at 780-435-2243 or on her cell 780-983-3826 or by email:  kathy@rivercommunity.ca.
